APPOINTMENTS….

Due to high demand we are recommending you book your next 2 appointments to ensure you can get in when you need to. These can be changed or cancelled up to 48 hours prior to the appointment.

To comply with minimising numbers of guests and team in the salon at any one time we have divided our team into 3 separate teams. So your stylist may be available on different days or times than on their previous schedule. (Our Front of House team will advise on our new opening hours and which day your stylist will be available).

We have extended our hours to accommodate these changes. (Please see below)

Our services have changed to allow for the extra measures we have had to put in place.

Some longer services may be temporarily unavailable.

New services and a private area have been temporarily introduced to accommodate vulnerable guests on certain days/times. Please advise us when booking.

Extra time has been given for your appointment as in some cases your stylist will be providing a one to one service throughout your visit and to allow for the new required procedures.

If you are booking a colour appointment we may request to make a visual virtual consultation with you and your stylist to minimise time in the salon.

We are requesting that you pay prior to your visit (ie when making the appointment for the first visit) to minimise time in the salon.

50% deposit for ALL colour services

No cash payments - payments by card or voucher only

Any guest booking a colour must have a skin test at least 48 hours prior to their appointment. We will be sending these out when we make your appointment.

COVID-19 Guidelines are to be followed by all guests at every appointment.

Should you or a member of your household be exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms, please let us know and do not attend your appointment.


Please arrive :

  • On time as we will have no waiting area**
  • Please come alone, unless accompanying a child under 10
  • Please bring a suitable bag to put you coat/jacket/belongings in as we are unable to use our cloakroom facilities so you will have to keep your belongings with you
  • Please arrive wearing a mask (we will have ones available if you do not have one)
  • On arrival (and departure) please use the hand sanitiser at the entrance
  • Please wait to be welcomed into the Front of House area and follow the signs regarding distancing
  • Please do not approach the reception desk
  • We will take your temperature, using contactless equipment before we check you in for your appointment
  • You will be greeted by your stylist and shown to where you will be seated for your visit

**Unfortunately if you are late for your appointment it is likely we will have to reschedule it. Any late arrivals will have a knock-on effect on the next guest’s appointment and infringe on the number of guests in the salon at any one time.

 

SALON ENVIRONMENT….

Hand sanitiser will be readily available throughout the salon

Our chairs are positioned 2 metres apart or separated by a screen when this is not convenient

Our Wash House area is divided by screens between every basin

We will not be offering any magazines or iPads

We regret that we will not be serving our delicious refreshments at the moment.

All surfaces and tools will be sanitised between each appointment

Our retail shop will be open for you to purchase any products. Your stylist will organise this for you during your appointment.

Should you wish to purchase products outside of your appointments please follow the instructions when entering the salon. (See retail services below)

Our washroom facilities will be available and will be sanitised after every use. Please follow the instructions regarding using the facilities and cleansing your hands whilst in the washroom.

 

SERVICES….

All our team have been trained in the new procedures and will be wearing fresh PPE (masks, eye shields, gloves and aprons), which will be sanitised or replaced in between each guest

Guests will wear a freshly washed or disposable gown and towel

Extra time has been given for your appointment as in some cases your stylist will be providing a one to one service throughout your visit and to allow for the new required procedures.

Contact between your stylist and other team members or guests will be kept to a minimum and only for essential reasons, i.e. checking a colour. Should this be necessary your stylist will use hand sanitiser both when they leave you and when they return.

Some services may not be available during this initial stage of reopening, due to required time factors. Our Front of House member or your stylist will advise you during your consultation. Full services will be reintroduced as soon as possible.

Here at Gershwins we pride ourselves on our signature hair designs. Those finishing touches create a signature look unique to you, but in this unprecedented times we are having to adapt. That is why for a temporary time only we will be introducing a Cut and Go service. This service will be available for guests who wish to minimise the time in the salon due to concerns about prolonged contact or vulnerability. Your hair will be washed and cut, but no blow dry or finishing touches. We must stress that this isn’t our usual protocol and cannot guarantee idiosyncrasies but we are adapting to provide a service that may help you at this time.

We may contact you during the booking process to make a visual virtual consultation to minimise time in the salon.

Vulnerable guests can be accommodated privately in our separate salon on certain days/times. Please advise us when booking.

Either your stylist or our Front of House team will take the payment for your appointment.
